Sometimes Twitter reminds me of the chat rooms from back in the early days of the InterWebz. It was a great way to virtually meet people and have fun interactions.
What I loved about the chat rooms was I could escape who I was and be anyone I wanted. The anonymity of it was freeing and fun.
What I love about Twitter is exactly the opposite: I feel like I can be myself, brutally honest and uncensored. And I feel like I’ve gotten to know some very amazing people, mostly women who are like me, juggling a million things at once and taking the time to write about it.
One of those women is Anissa Mayhew, a wife, a mother of three children including a cancer survivor, and an amazing writer. You can read about her and her family here, here and here.
I have never met Anissa in person. We have only traded a few @ replies in Twitter. But I love reading her entries and her tweets and she’s just this amazing, funny, bright woman. She’s one of those people I want to meet, and I was hoping to do so at Blissdom or BlogHer.
Anissa is very ill now and needs prayers, positive energy, good thoughts. If you know her, I am sure you are sending all those things. If you don’t, I think she’s one of those people you want to know. Please send her all you have.
